Engineering Technicians are Amazon's front line when it comes to hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting They will maintain operate and troubleshoot Data Center Operation's Mission Critical Facilities which includes stand-by diesel generators and related fuel systems as well as three phase electrical systems such as switch gear UPSs PDUs wet cell batteries and associated systems CRAC centrifugal chillers cooling towers/water chemical system air handlers and associated systems pumps & motors AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design planning delivery and operation of all AWS global infrastructure In other words we're the people who keep the cloud running We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers storage networking power and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on We work on the most challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain —and we're looking for talented people who want to help You'll join a diverse team of software hardware network engineers supply chain specialists security experts operations managers —and other vital roles You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver highest standards for safety security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at lowest possible cost for our customers And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas empowers you own them completion NOTE Amazon does not sponsor immigration including H-1B TN (trade) non-immigrant visas this role Lump sum stipend provided eligible candidates relocate position Physical Requirements Willingness demonstrated ability work following physical conditions reasonable accommodations Regularly lift or move up to 39 pounds independently Participate group lifts 40+ pounds Maintain balance perform construction tasks while ladder Regularly walk use hands fingers handle feel reach hands arms stoop kneel crouch crawl climb stairs twist bend work above shoulders grasp carry push pull objects into position Work environment requiring ear protection This role supports data centers operational stages Position may assigned facility still under development require travel established locations training until designated site fully operational Essential Requirements Ability travel commute between data center sites needed Willingness temporarily work alternative sites training periods until assigned facility operational Travel frequency will vary based business needs operational status assigned facility Candidates must be able travel over miles or commute less than miles active data center sites required business needs Key job responsibilities Daily building rounds monitor record information from electrical mechanical fire/life safety equipment ensure uptime availability Monitor Building Management Systems Electrical Power Management System Assist troubleshooting facility rack-level events internal Service Level Agreements SLA Perform rack installs decommissioning internal SLA Perform PM root cause analysis repair technical writing support change management program Monitor daily work requests manage resolution execute projects conception completion On-site support contractors sub-contractors vendors ensuring all performed accordance established practices procedures local legislation Work schedule changes depending specific site needs Shifts can be up to hours rotate predefined schedule Some locations have call rotations Role may support more than one location-site A day life This role acts Amazon front line hands-on preventative maintenance PM reporting site Data Center Facility Manager FM They will maintain operate troubleshoot mission-critical facilities including standby diesel generators fuels phase electrical UPS units PDUs wet cell batteries associated CRAHU units centrifugal chillers water handling pump motor Additional general facilities included scope Basic Qualifications yrs experience electorcal mechanical Microsoft Office products Ability flexible schedule days nights weekends Preferred Qualifications yrs expereince Centre Enginnering Technical Military Training Associate education field
