    **Description**

    **Job Purpose**

    The Beautiful Courtyard by Marriott Charleston Waterfront is seeking a Bistro Attendant/Bartender for the PM shift. The purpose of the Bistro Attendant/Bartender is to greet guests with warm hospitality, take food and beverage order, prepare beverage orders, deliver and serve food and/or beverage items in a courteous and timely manner resulting in guest satisfaction.

    **Essential Job Functions**

    Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food. Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables.

    Weigh, measure and mix ingredients. Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards presentation standards, and food preparation checklist. Prepare cold foods, Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.

    Test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently.

    Monitor food quality while preparing food.

    Set-up and break drown work station.

    Serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles. Wash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.

    Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food.

    Take orders from customers, input orders into micros, and obtain payment and provide change. Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.

    Prepare food, coffee and other beverages. Process all orders and collect payment from customers.

    Provide assistance in Food and Beverage areas including busing, cleaning and resetting tables, including dashers, delivering food to guests, general cleaning of food and beverage prep areas and other areas within the lobby area.

    Prepare and serve alcoholic drinks during evening dinner.

    Count bank at end of shift, complete designated cashier reports, resolve any discrepancies, drop off receipts, and secure bank.

    Complete restaurant opening and closing duties including setting up necessary supplies and tools, cleaning all equipment and areas, locking equipment doors, putting food deliveries away, etc.

    Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications.

    **Experience/Education**

    Minimum of 1 year of restaurant/bistro server experience, including experience as a bartender. High School Diploma preferred.
