    Day (United States of America) LocationSuperior Street Job DescriptionThe Division of Genetics, Genomics and Metabolism is recruiting for a full time clinical genetic counselor to add to our growing team.

    This clinical position will support our general genetics clinics as well as perform independent genetic counseling clinics.

    Our Division continues to grow, and we expect to be a team of 8 full time geneticists and 31 genetic counselors by this fall.

    We will also be launching our Genetics Residency program this July and will have 1 genetics resident working with us.

    In addition to clinical activities, genetic counselors will have opportunities to supervise genetic counseling students and participate with the Northwestern University Graduate Program in Genetic Counseling.

    Our genetic counselors enjoy a robust career that involves research, advocacy, teaching, and seeking leadership roles in professional societies. Genetic counselors at Lurie Childrens are part of the medical staff and bill for our services. Il licensure and board certification are required. Ability to travel and staff clinics in our satellite locations in Skokie and Arlington Heights is also required.

    New graduates are welcome to apply and will be considered for this positionThis is an entry level clinical genetic counselor position providing genetic counseling to patients and families for a variety of indications.

    The position involves participation in all aspects of delivery of genetics services, including involvement in the diagnostic evaluation process, care coordination, identification of resources, and advocacy.


    Minimum Qualifications:
    1.

    Education:
    Masters degree from an accredited genetic counseling graduate program2.


    Certification/Licensure/Registration:
    Active IL Genetic Counseling License3.


    Relevant Experience:
    minimum of 2 years.4. Computer Skills (i.e.

    Software/Hardware):
    Microsoft Office Programs5. Other Skills (i.e. Project Management, Negotiation)
