- Translate requirements into a system architecture and detailed design.
- Design and develop complex hydraulic and pneumatic systems for industrial machinery.
- Validate designs through analysis and testing
- Determine feasibility of modifying existing or designing new equipment considering costs, time limitations, and other technical and economic factors.

- HST system design and integration.
- Pneumatic design and integration for railroad brake and auxiliary systems.
- Knowledge in Autodesk and ERP software
- Office deskwork, requiring sitting, walking, using phone & computer
- Up to 5% travel, including international
- May lift up to 30 lbs. occasionally
- Can tolerate variable and sometimes challenging conditions during visits or inspections of company equipment in a railroad environment

GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:
The Engineer I, Fluids is responsible for developing and maintaining hydraulics and pneumatics system designs under the direction of a senior engineer or manager. They provide direction to designers and drafters regarding the documentation of their designs. Provides engineering support to internal and external customers and performs other tasks as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Functional & Technical Skills
Education: BS in Mechanical Engineering
Experience: 0+ years of experience developing and maintaining hydraulics and pneumatics system design.
Licenses/Certifications: Obtain and maintain railroad safety training and credentials
