Closing Date: 5/31/2024 4:30 PM CentralDescription Under the general supervision of the Clinical Services Division Manager, manages WATTS reviews, emergency protective placements, provides telephone and mobile crisis intervention, crisis counseling, assessment, referral and acts as a human services intake worker.

Works closely with community providers, law enforcement, school personnel, clients, and families. Duties may include on-call coverage. Examples of Duties The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Receives crisis calls for Fond du Lac County Human Services crisis intervention program.

Interviews clients and families to obtain mental health and/or substance use information and assesses the needs of the individual and family.

Assessments may be completed by telephone or in person in the community, at the individual's residence, hospital, jail, school, or at the crisis office location.

Appropriately, credentialed staff may provide crisis therapy and therapy case management when indicated.
Provides direct telephone and mobile crisis intervention services to children, adolescents, adults, and families in the community.

Develops crisis plans utilizing the strengths of the individual/family and available community resources to resolve the immediate crisis and facilitates follow-up interventions.

Determines appropriate level of care needs during the crisis and arranges referrals. Represents the Human Services Department for approval of WI Stats., Ch. 51 emergency detentions and inpatient funding when indicated.
Performs duties of Adult Protective Services worker as prescribed under WI Stats., Ch. 55.

Works collaboratively with law enforcement, families, other County Departments, schools, continuum of acute care services providers, and other community resources to coordinate appropriate crisis resolution and referral.

Completes all necessary court documents for WATTS reviews. Carries a caseload of people for WATTS. Communicates pertinent information on a timely basis and participates in clinical supervision case reviews, staffings, and/or case planning meetings.
Participates in Department development to ensure quality and effective programming.
Completes all necessary health care/medical and financial record documentation required to maintain complete medical and financial billing records.

Completes appropriate and timely medical record documentation, which may include assessments, follow-up contacts, crisis plans, administrative, demographic, insurance, and financial information.

Coordinates this information with the appropriate staff.
Manages grievances throughout Fond du Lac County inpatient and outpatient services. Provides training to staff on these policies. Performs other duties as assigned, including responding to an emergency event.


Typical Qualifications Training and Experience:

A Master's Degree or a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, human services or related field and one year of experience working with a mental health population.

Must have the ability to interact professionally with clients who may be challenging and potentially hostile.

Experience working with children and families in the capacity of child welfare, child protective services, or juvenile justice a plus.

A minimum of one year of experience working with youth in the area of mental health preferred. A valid Wisconsin driver's license, available automobile, and automobile insurance are required.
