    Salary range:
    Total Negotiated Salary (TNS) calculation includes AAMC salary benchmarks for Neurology ranging from $220, $289, The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. This position includes membership in the health science compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

    Position description



    Clinical X Series



    The Department of Neurology at the University of California, Irvine, anticipates openings in the Clinical of Neurology Series as Assistant / Associate / Full Professors in the following fields: General Neurology, Alzheimer's Disease and other Dementias, Epilepsy, Headache, Movement Disorders, Multiple Sclerosis, Cognitive Neurology, Neurogenetics, Neurohospitalists, Neuromuscular Disease, Neuro-Oncology, Neuropsychology, Pain Management, Sleep, and Stroke.

    Requirements:

    Applications are being sought from candidates who possess M.D., Ph.D., or M.D./Ph.D. degrees in the field of Neurology or equivalent who are eligible for licensure by the California Medical Board. Candidates must have demonstrated capabilities for teaching, professional service and/or research suitable to the Clinical of Neurology series. The predominant responsibilities are teaching, clinical service, and engagement in creative activities with a heavy emphasis on teaching and/or clinical service. The incumbent will participate in patient care, teach residents and students, perform university and public service, and demonstrate professional competency and activity.

    Positions are dependent upon funding. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Initial appointments are for one year and renewal is based on availability of support.

    Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

    M.D., Ph.D., or M.D./Ph.D. from an accredited institution with appropriate training and experience, postgraduate clinical training, and eligibility for one of the medical specialty boards. Candidate must demonstrate teaching ability or have a clear potential as a clinical teacher.
