    Job Summary

    The Comic Book Instructor will provide custom-tailored curriculum and direct instruction to K-12 students. This role is tasked with the design, implementation, and instruction of a comprehensive curriculum focused on comic book creation. The curriculum will aim to foster creativity while also enhancing literacy, storytelling, and visual narrative skills in students. The capstone of this course is a final project where students will create their own comic books.

    General Responsibilities

    1. Design and implement a comic book creation curriculum tailored to the needs and interests of students.
    2. Lead comic book creation sessions, imparting essential skills like storytelling, drawing techniques, and panel layout.
    3. Create a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment for all students.
    4. Assess students' comic book creation skills and provide constructive feedback.
    5. Monitor student progress, maintaining accurate records for educational and administrative purposes.
    6. Establish and maintain regular communication with parents, guardians, and educational stakeholders about student performance and program updates.
    7. Ensure all essential materials such as drawing tablets, sketchbooks, and software are properly set up, maintained, and stored.

    Major Duties

    1. Curriculum Development: Plan and create lesson plans and learning modules that incorporate advanced techniques in storytelling, character development, and narrative cohesion.
    2. Classroom Instruction: Manage and lead classes ensuring that each student is actively engaged and benefiting from the learning experience.
    3. Student Assessment: Continuously evaluate student progress, and adapt instructional techniques to meet individual learning needs.
    4. Community Building: Create a classroom culture that promotes teamwork, constructive critique, and mutual respect.
    5. Technology Management: Guarantee the optimal functioning of digital tools used for instruction, such as drawing tablets and comic book creation software.
    6. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain precise records of student attendance, evaluation results, and instructor feedback, submitting comprehensive reports as needed.
