    Surgical Technologist - Perioperative Services


    Founded in 1938, Wilcox Medical Center is a not-for-profit medical center dedicated to providing the Kaua'i community with accessible quality health care.

    The largest medical center on Kaua'i, it is a state-of-the-art acute care facility with a full suite of services offering 30 specialties and programs, including cardiology, emergency, family practice, gastroenterology, health management, internal medicine, neurology, OB-GYN, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics and urology.

    Its 18-bed emergency department serves as the island's Primary Stroke Center. The medical center also has four birthing suites, seven intensive care beds and 20 same-day surgery beds. Wilcox is the first American College of Surgeons-verified Level III Trauma Center in the state of Hawai'i.

    Wilcox is part of Hawai'i Pacific Health, one of the state's leading health care systems and a not-for-profit health care organization with medical centers, clinics, physicians and other caregivers working together to create a healthier Hawai'i.

    Our Perioperative Services department provides full support throughout the duration of a patient's surgical procedure, spanning ward admission, anesthesia, surgery and recovery.

    Professional care services include identification of the patient's individual needs, patient care plan development and implementation and the coordination of nursing service to restore each patient's health before, during and after a surgical procedure.

    As the Surgical Technologist, you will form part of our state-of-the-art Surgery department and help to provide life-changing surgery services.

    You will perform surgical scrub duties and maintain sterile techniques for all surgical procedures. You will also prepare the operating room, equipment and instruments for surgery while maintaining aseptic techniques.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    High school or equivalent. Completion of an accredited surgical technologist training program. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card. Current Certified Surgical Technologist with the National Board of Surgical Technologist and Surgical Assistant (NBSTSA)


    OR
    Certified Surgical Technologist Certification with National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).

    Preferred Qualifications:
    One (1) year surgical technologist experience.
