    Description
    Overview

    Supports implementation and ongoing maintenance of home care and hospice software as it relates to clinical users. Will be available for process simplification, problem solving, and trouble shooting. Distinguishes between software problems and user problems and applies problem solving or training techniques as indicated. Provides initial Epic training for Clinical end users (back office, Hospice Inpatient Units and home health & hospice field users)

    Responsibilities

    Client/Customer Education


    • Has access to confidential UnityPoint at Home information. Must use and promote discretion in the disclosure of information.
    • Assists in providing site coordination, keeps necessary log of activity, submits required forms and reports to project staff, manages and coordinates equipment, participates in video conferences, conducts virtual visits, enters clinical data into software and transfers data to project team.
    • Train staff on initial use of software and laptop computers in a formal classroom setting and in an informal consulting basis.
    • Develop a complete understanding of the EHR application(s) and teach the application(s) to others within the organization, following the standardized and best practice curriculum.
    • Provide educational updates on clinical office and field staff through classroom sessions, 1:1 instruction, or using remote technology. May assist with education programs for other end users as needed.
    • Demonstrate safety-related work behaviors to ensure safe job performance and the maintenance of a safe work environment, including using proper body mechanics and requesting assistance as needed; following all proper procedures for universal body substance isolation (UBSI) as applied to this job; assessing safety of the work area/site and taking initiative to prevent accidents according to prescribed policy.
    • Demonstrate interest in and commitment to assuring customer satisfaction with services provided by UnityPoint at Home
    • Exhibit knowledge of work systems and processes and demonstrate skill in the implementation of the tools and methodology of continuous process improvement including knowledge and skills of group dynamics and teamwork.
    Departmental Support


    • Optimization of current clinical workflows
    • Assist managers to develop standardized reports and teach them how to access those reports as needed.
    • Attend implementation meetings and other meetings as appropriate.
    • Participate on committee activities as requested.
    • Participate in telemedicine project as directed by Supervisor.
    Customer Excellence


    • Problem solving and troubleshooting with user of home care and hospice software
    • Serve as liaison and support specialist between agency staff, management team and corporate IT department to ensure smooth implementation and ongoing maintenance of agency software
    • Facilitate identification of problems and potential solutions to hardware and software problems. Consults with IT department regarding problems and coordinates activities related to problem solving.
    • Work collaboratively with IT department staff to ensure best use of software to maximize productivity and efficiency of clinical and office staff.
    • Perform other duties as requested by Director or Coordinator to facilitate the smooth and effective operations of the office.
    • Foster team effort between all staff; maintain open communication with staff to provide an efficient team and enhance overall function; support overall efforts/goals of UnityPoint at Home and maintain a positive work effort in meeting these goals.
    Qualifications


    Education:
    Bachelor's degree in business, information systems or health care preferred.

    Experience working in an electronic health record preferred.


    All staff are expected to participate in appropriate continuing education as may be requested and/or required by their immediate manager/director.

    In addition, staff are expected to accept personal responsibility for other educational activities to enhance job-related skills and abilities. All staff must attend mandatory educational programs.

    During orientation training, will need to become credentialed in Epic programs needed for the role.


    Experience:
    Advanced proficiency with computer applications (all applicable)

    Teaching of adult learners, process improvement, software applications, minimum 2 years home care clinical and/or management/Informatics experience.

    License(s)/Certification(s): Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
