    • FridayHybrid ScheduleDEPARTMENT DESCRIPTIONUnder the administrative direction of the Director
    • UWP Accounting & Financial Reporting, the Accounting Manager has principal responsibility to plan, supervise, administer and direct the activity of the accounting staff and implement systems and processes for collecting, verifying, processing and reporting financial information in an accurate and timely manner.

    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIESEnsure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year end close with required approvals, reviews and reconciliationsEnsure timely and accurate reporting of all monthly financial informationProvide functional and technical expertise and training for accounting staff and ensure that they understand and follow all established policies and procedures and are appropriately deployed and held accountable for delivering outcomesInterview, hire, and train new employees, monitor employee performance, initiate disciplinary action, terminate employees as appropriate, write and conduct employee performance evaluations, conduct and participate in team meetings and coordinate coverage for open positionsAssess internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas, and established internal controls for general ledger and financial reporting operationsEvaluate current accounting and reporting operations and offer recommendations for process improvementsCreate and maintain accounting and reporting process documents and policies and proceduresAssist CFO & Director of UWP Accounting & Financial Reporting in department planning and decision makingREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or related field7 years of progressive financial accounting experience with strong background in analyzing and preparing financial statementsAND3 years supervisory experienceExperience in an academic healthcare environment and/or CPA preferredORAn equivalent combination of education and experience will be consideredABOUT FACULTY PRACTICE PLAN SERVICESUW Medicine Faculty Practice Plan Services (FPPS) supports UW Physicians (UWP), a practice group for more than 1,800 physicians and other healthcare professionals associated with UW Medicine.

    • Montlake, UW Neighborhood Clinics, UW Medical Center
    • Northwest, the UW School of Medicine, Valley Medical Center, and Airlift Northwest.
