    Description
    As Director of Sales, you will be responsible for Revenuemaximization at Philmont Country Club; developing, planning, and implementing strategies to meet Membership and Catering goals. The Director develops relationships with Members, individuals, and corporations who book events so as to maintain a catalog of repeat business while prospecting for new events. In addition to recruiting new members into the club, retaining the existing membership base, encouraging existing members to upgrade their membership level, and sourcing referrals and leads and transitioning the leads into membership sales.

    In addition to your focus on Membership Sales, you will also continue to direct the team on Catering Sales at the club. The primary objective of this position is to help direct the Catering department to include planning, budgeting, forecasting, soliciting new business, maintaining current clients, and promoting banquet and catering business for the club. You will be responsible for the direction of all phases of Banquet and Catering Sales operations to include, but not limited to ensure the selling, planning, organizing, and managing of events as necessary. Additionally, s/he will promote the Club locally via bridal shows and other public events, which heighten awareness within the community.

    They must work with the entire management team to communicate and prepare for upcoming events. You will ensure that the team is following up with clients, and that we continue to have a strong focus on revenue generation, quality standards and service delivery. The Director is ultimately responsible for achieving his/her budgeted sales plan. Internal/external events may include seminars, wedding receptions, bar and bat mitzvah, rehearsal dinners, luncheons, and golf tournament events. Member events may also include holiday parties, special events, and more.

    Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Meet and/or exceed monthly membership and catering goals.
    • Respond to all inquiry phone calls/walk-ins timely and follow up, as appropriate.
    • Conduct site visits/entertain potential clients.
    • Sell club memberships, upgrades, conversions, and membership changes.
    • Recruit prospects, conduct sales presentations and tours.
    • Development new sales prospects by contacting individuals, groups, and companies in the community.
    • Attend special events and activities to provide sales information and tours.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales tracking and reports.
    • Assist with the development of, editing, and distribution of all Banquet related files that generate business.
    • Negotiate, prepare, and write proposals and contracts.
    • Create, edit, and distribute all reports needed for daily, monthly, and annual forecasting.
    • Active participation in required events, required programs, required meetings, and required trainings.
    • Interpret and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
    • Develop professional relationships for the purpose of sales lead generation.
    • Coordinate with other departments regarding client requests regarding the BEO process.
    • Assure of complete billing and deposit procedures as needed on a timely basis.
    • Give an overview of weekly events to staff, the General Manager, and the Food & Beverage Department.
    • Prepare weekly/monthly forecasts of Sales and Catering bookings and their effect on food, beverage, and other miscellaneous revenues.
    • Effectively and professionally interact and communicate with senior management, managers, other employees, prospective members, and members.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Job Requirements:
    • Two years experience in Sales.
    • Solid understanding of membership and banquet revenue generation.
    • Proven track record of sales performance.
    • Knowledge of social etiquette.
    • Creative menu development skills.
    • High energy, outgoing personality.
    • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong technical literacy including Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Diplomatic team player able to foster relationships with Members, employee-partners and guests.
