    Description

    The Robert C. Byrd Clinic, located on the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine campus, is actively seeking a full-time Psychologist to join our well-established and growing rural practice.
    Position Purpose:

    To provide behavioral health services for patients, including adults, adolescents, children, and families. This position requires the implementation of individual psychotherapy as well as psychological assessment for mental health concerns, including but not limited to, depression, anxiety, learning disorders, and ADHD.

    Position Qualifications:

    A doctoral degree or master's degree in psychology or related discipline. Compassion and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with persons with mental or emotional disorders and their families. Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to work as a team member. Superb organizational skills. Training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is preferred but not required.

    Experience:

    Minimum of three years of experience in providing assessments and therapy services to a full range of individuals from youth through adulthood. Experience in the use, administration, interpretation, and documentation of psychological tests. Report writing for psychological evaluations. Familiarity with DSM-5 criteria for mental disorders and experience in referral and triage to psychiatric services as needed.

    Licenses/Certifications: Current State of WV psychology license.

    Job Requirements:

    • Provide therapy, counseling, and support services for a diverse caseload including adults, adolescents, children, and families experiencing mental health issues.
    • Assess clients' mental condition based on review of client information, interviews, observation, tests, and collaboration with other staff members.
    • Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge.
    • Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment.
    • Gather information about community mental health needs and resources appropriate for use in conjunction with therapy.
    • Provide psychological evaluation services including clinical interview, administration and interpretation of psychological tests, and report writing.
    • Serve as a client advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
