Job Summary:
The Benefits Administrator is responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, voluntary coverages, 401(k) plan, and workers compensation.
Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities
- Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
- Assists with scheduling new-hire benefit orientations.
- Processes benefit-related invoices including allocation of charges.
- Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
- Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
- Distributes all benefits enrollment materials.
- Assists with benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
- Assists in administration of leave-of-absence requests and accommodation requests.
- Responds to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts.
- Manages 401k(k) contribution changes in HRIS.
- Assists with the open enrollment process.
- Opens workers compensation claims and sends related information to team member.
- Other projects as required.
Requirements And Skills
The Benefits Administrator is often the first point of contact for team members regarding benefits-related matters and plays a crucial role in maintaining a positive and efficient work environment. Adaptability, attention to detail, and strong communication skills are key attributes for success in this role.
- Detail Oriented with proven organizational abilities.
- Strong technical foundation and ability to learn and apply new technology/processes.
- Familiarity with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS). Experience with Dayforce a plus.
- Understanding of HR policies, procedures, and employment laws.
- Prior experience working with benefit vendors.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications. High proficiency in Excel a plus.
- Strong critical thinking skills and good ethical judgment paired with the ability to keep sensitive information confidential.
