Job summary
In this role you will assist in the care of hospital patients under direction of a Registered Nurse and medical staff.
- Evaluates patient’s conditions requirements knowledge level cooperates with physician and patient/significant other determining appropriate occupational therapy treatment.
- Develops treatment plan goals performs prescribed treatments outpatient/inpatients assists training personnel occupational therapy methods techniques supervising aides assistants activities establishes documents patient’s plan treatment record after each occupational therapy treatment according established standards participates communication problem solving with patient/significant other health team members departments evaluates patient outcome coordinates discharge patient from occupational therapy assesses own learning needs establishes priorities develops action plan possesses knowledge Continuous Quality Improvement principles supports Physical Occupational Speech Therapy philosophy performance improvement gives input annual budget goals department policies procedures participates educational professional meetings continuing education/in-services relating occupational therapy may develop implement specialty area programs perform activities assigned Director must demonstrated ability interact positively Administration Directors Managers Supervisors peers co-workers subordinates patients visitors meet regular attendance standard stay below average sick leave utilization levels demonstrated commitment patient-centered care service excellence compassionate communication patients families minimum two years hands-on experience clinical similar setting preferred equivalent combination education training experience graduate AOTA approved accredited program current OT license issued WA Department of Health current Basic Life Support Certification.
