- Coordinates and facilitates Section 504 processes and meetings, provides consultation to stakeholders, and is responsible for the monitoring and maintenance of Section 504 records and data.
- Utilizes data to identify at risk students, recognize school trends and drive programmatic decision making
- Assists schools in understanding and implementing Child Find procedures
- Delivers professional development for school staff to increase the understanding of Section 504
- Monitors effectiveness of student plans and student utilization of accommodations
- Collaborates with school personnel to serve students identified under Section 504.
- Enhances the professional capacity of school personnel through consultation and support
- Conducts suicide risk assessments and participates in crisis response services when needed
- Attends district trainings relevant to job duties
- Documents services provided via the electronic system utilized by the district
- Reflects on practices and makes necessary adjustments
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Section 504 Program Manager
- Master's Degree in school counseling, social work or school psychology from an accredited school or university
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in area of licensure
- Knowledge of Section 504 law and practices
- Experience as a school-based Section 504 coordinator or case manager
- Working knowledge of Section 504
- Knowledge of Middle and High School Curriculum, State Testing Processes, and Testing Accommodations
- Knowledge of technology and use of online platforms
- Experience leading teams, highly organized, detail-oriented, and technologically savvy
- Demonstrates good people skills, cognitive flexibility, and adapts easily to change
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Able to work independently with assigned school(s), principals, and teachers
- Demonstrates ability to troubleshoot complex problems
- Ability to utilize educational data for decision-making
- Knowledge of the impact of mental health challenges, homelessness, poverty and medical problems on student achievement
- Ability to recommend appropriate strategies for social, emotional, mental and behavioral needs
- Ability to coordinate and facilitate professional development
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with an understanding of the adverse effect on students, parents and CMS when confidentiality is not maintained
- Ability to perform duties with an awareness of and adherence to all district requirements, policies and procedures
- Strong oral and written communication skills
