- Creates a classroom environment that fosters a desire to learn and develops a culture of excellence.
- Work with students to grow in their ability to sing both individually and as part of a group.
- Select, rehearse, and present a repertoire of engaging music.
- Plan, prepare for, and present at least one performance per school year.
- Maintains overall professionalism adhering to the MPCS guidelines.
- Supports the value of an education founded in Christian values.
- Supports the philosophy and mission of Mount Pisgah Christian School.
- Supervise students in the classroom, at performances, rehearsals and trips
- Work with the Director of Fine Arts to ensure timely and pertinent communication is being shared regarding student activities.
- Support the MPCS Fine Arts Program.
- Work collaboratively with other Fine Arts instructors/directors.
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience preferably in an educational environment.
- A mission-driven individual who demonstrates an eagerness to serve in a faith-based academic environment & genuine ability to connect with and serve young people in a Christian community.
- Communications: Effective written, verbal, and editing communication skills. Should be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
- Collaboration: Has student-centered focus and ability to work with multiple internal and external stakeholders, including students, families, faculty, staff, and community partners.
- Frequently sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear.
- Frequently stand, walk distances, and climb stairs.
- Drives personal vehicle across campuses.
- Have specific vision abilities required by this job that include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- The noise level in the work environment is usually low.
- Manage equipment, including a phone, computer, camera, video equipment, and other electronic devices.
- Use muscles or limbs to Lift boxes or items under 30 lbs.
- Occasionally work nights and weekends in support of departmental school activities.
