    Title: 2nd Shift Production Supervisor – Mack Todd Rd.

    Shift Hours: Monday through Thursday, 2:30pm to 1:30am

    Location Address: 535 Mack Todd Rd, Zebulon NC 27597

    Reports To: Production Manager

    FLSA status: Hourly/Non-Exempt

    Does this position have supervisory responsibilities: Yes

    What is the overall objective/purpose of this position?

    They will coordinate and direct the activities of the production employees. These employees are engaged in various manufacturing activities such as: operating thermoforming and CNC machines, material handling, and performing quality reviews.

    **The candidate hired for this position will train on the first shift for a period of time and then transition to the second shift. **

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    · Lead and guide employees in a team-oriented environment to ensure quality, safety and company work rules and regulations are being followed at all times

    · Oversee the set-up of machines and equipment used to fabricate parts according to blueprint specifications. Assists or gives guidance when necessary

    · Review production schedules and assign work to employees based on operational needs

    · Inspect products for defects and conformance to customer specifications.

    · Train workers in job duties and production techniques

    · Assigns experienced workers to mentor and assist new employees with their training

    · Review production paperwork to ensure production goals are being met

    · Communicate with management to arrange for assignment of workers required to meet production demands

    · Observe workers performing their duties to ensure production numbers and quality

    · Confer with quality control personnel to evaluate work performance

    · Analyze production reports

    · Participate in the bi-annual review process for your team

    · Coach and discuss disciplinary processes with employees when necessary

    · Follow all cleanup and housekeeping procedures

    · Comply with all quality, safety and work rules and regulations

    · Other duties may be assigned as necessary

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    · Leads by example and motivates their team to create a challenging, empowering, and collaborative working environment

    · Basic skills in reading, writing, and math are necessary

    · Ability to follow detailed work instructions

    · Basic computer literacy

    · Knowledge of injection molding, thermoforming, and CNC machinery

    · Effective communication skills

    · Ability to lead and direct other employees in their work assignments

    Education and Experience:

    3-5 years of demonstrated supervisory experience in a manufacturing industry required (plastics indusrty strongly preferred)

    High School diploma or GED required; college coursework would be helpful

    Physical Demands:

    While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and listen. The employee is required to use their hands and fingers to grasp, lift, and perform some repetitive movements. Vision requirements of this job include close vision, color vision and moderate distance vision. The employee is required to stand and walk for most of the shift, and moving from machine to machine observing employee's work. The employee may occasionally need to lift moderate weights up to 50 lbs assisted. The employee will also spend some time in an office, completing reports and other required paperwork.

    Work Environment:

    The work setting of this manufacturing facility provides adequate lighting, noise levels will be moving between moderate to high noise levels. Required Personal Protection Equipment includes Safety Glasses and Hearing Protection for any person in the production area. Additional PPE may be required, i.e. gloves, face masks, face shields, dependent on the specific job being performed and company safety rules and regulations. Because of the nature of this business, the temperature in the production facility can be very hot during the hotter times of the year. Typically, the temperature is more comfortable during the more moderate temperature times of the year. Employees are strongly encouraged to have water at their work area to stay hydrated during their work shift.
