    Director, Process Engineering

    Nature of Duties

    • The Process Engineering Director position leads plant-wide process capability development and yield improvement initiatives in a complex high mix, mid volume environment
    • Manages a team of engineers and technicians focused on performance. Provides guidance, develops and leads staff.
    • Establishes technical priorities, supports development of plant quality systems and utilizes his/her experience and resources to best meet process improvement initiatives, quality objectives and profitability objectives of the organization
    • Leads by example, develops a culture of strong engineering discipline through the use of advanced quality tools such as FMEAs, DOE's, SPC and process modeling
    • Analyzes data, identifies opportunities and leads cross functional teams to implement robust processes utilizing structured problem solving techniques.
    • Works with team on the details to d efine process capabilities, process instructions, operator instructions, control plans and continuous improvements initiatives.
    • Works closely with the General Manager to ensure the engineering organization's goals are aligned with the plant and company objectives
    • Collaborates with peers in operations, quality and maintenance organizations to ensure cross functional solutions and mutual support
    • Participates and may lead operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield improvement and capability advancement
    • Works effectively with equipment manufacturers and material suppliers to identify opportunities to improve yields and capability through new techniques, equipment upgrades and cutting edge technology investments. Stays abreast of technology trends both within and outside the PCB industry
    • Participates in the development of intellectual property
    • Leads customer calls and visits as required

    Required Experience

    • BS Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering or related engineering discipline. MS preferred
    • Process e ngineering experience in printed circuit board or semiconductor manufacturing is a plus but not required
    • 5 years of demonstrated people management skills leading an engineering team comprised of both senior and junior engineers
    • Strong technical acumen, attention to detail and the ability to solve problems and clearly communicate topics of high technical content across various audiences, including customers
    • Results oriented with a s trong business sense and ability to weigh all relevant options when making and recommending actions to the organization
    • Proven analytical and problem solving skills. E xperienced with the use of advanced statistical tools
    • Strong communication and leadership skills required, must have the ability to provide clear direction to staff and positively influence peer group
    • Comfortable and capable of working directly with customers.
    • Well versed in developing technical presentations and tailoring for the audience
    • Demonstrated a bility to adapt in a fast paced and dynamic work environment

    Salary Range(annual): $135,000 - $166,000
