    Description

    Join our Transportation team as a Graduate Engineer in our Bismarck or Minot offices. The Graduate Engineer assists in the completion of civil engineering projects through a combination of design and construction fieldwork.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Performs construction observation duties on assigned projects
    • Assists in client contact and communication pertaining to assigned projects, including attending city council meetings
    • Assists in the development of probable construction cost estimates for assigned projects
    • Assists in the analysis of reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design project
    • Prepares design computations and quantity estimates
    • Assists in the preparation or modification of reports, funding applications, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, permits and designs for project
    • Revises plan documents and coordinates with project team members to modify designs
    • Conducts periodic site visits to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents and plans
    • Uses computer assisted engineering and design software to prepare design computations
    • Other duties assigned
    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
    • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification
    • Stays in current job specialty by attending continuing education courses
    • The ability to work within both office and filed settings
    • The ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
    • General understanding of AutoCAD and/or OpenRoads software
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office
    • This position may be located in Bismarck, ND or Minot, ND
