Job Description:

A Surgical Technologist performs various duties as a member of the surgical team to ensure a safe and successful operative procedure.

This position functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and directly reports to Surgical Services management. It is expected that the ORT III will support system wide and surgical operations initiatives and practices. In addition, this person will actively participate in the surgical operations safety plan as outlined.

Check supplies/instrumentation and equipment needed for surgical procedur s and ensure they are working properly.

Open sterile supplies and set up the table for each surgical procedure.

Provide a sterile field for surgical procedures.

Ensure that the members of the surgical team are properly attired and assist the surgeon with draping the patient to isolate the operative site.
