Engaged in future robotic or vision designs, robotic programming for mfg./pkg robots, vision-guided robots, and high-speed robotic applications. A robotics and vision systems job involves designing, developing, and maintaining robotic systems with integrated vision technologies. Responsibilities may include designing and implementing robotic systems and integrating vision technologies for tasks like object recognition and navigation. You might develop algorithms for computer vision, calibrate sensors, and troubleshoot hardware/software issues.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance overall system performance is crucial, and staying updated on emerging technologies in robotics and vision systems is often part of the job.

    Responsibilities:

    • Work collaboratively with a team to design, build, test and troubleshoot robotics systems.
    • Create an infrastructure to manage and analyze the data generated by a growing number of robots and vision systems.
    • Design and develop robotic systems integrated with vision technologies. Program and optimize robotic movements to achieve precision and efficiency.
    • Create and implement algorithms for computer vision applications, such as object recognition and tracking.
    • Ensure seamless communication between hardware and software components of robotic and vision systems.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to robotics and vision system functionality.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate robotic solutions into existing processes.
    • Stay updated on emerging technologies in robotics, computer vision, and related fields.
    • Conduct system testing and validation to ensure performance meets specified requirements.
    • Optimize and improve existing robotics and vision systems for enhanced functionality.
    • Provide technical expertise and support for the deployment and maintenance of robotic systems.
    • Review manufacturing system requirements and design robust robotic/vision hardware and software applications
    • Execute AbbVie GPS Robot/Vision standards for manufacturing equipment.
    • Interface with other departments and regional automation execution teams to gather feedback and document manufacturing requirements with robotic/vision applications. Interface with Process, Controls teams, equipment suppliers, and manufacturing integration suppliers.
    • Specify software/equipment selection guidance, functional requirements, and integration methods

    Examples:
Robot Models, Vision guided robots, Pick and Place robots, or Vision Products. Ensure software/hardware application designs comply with AbbVie Standards.

    • Supervise detailed designs by contractors when necessary.
    • Forecast, track, and manage vision or robots per project.
    • Provide on-site and remote technical support for plant software issues, new equipment startup, troubleshooting, reprogramming, diagnostic equipment usage, and interfacing with skilled trades personnel.
    • Provide plant technical support with the development, planning, and strategies for maintaining and replacing obsolete equipment.
    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience. Should have a master's in robotics or similar. A background in robotics is preferred. A background in computer vision and machine/deep learning will also be extremely beneficial. In addition, 5-10 years of experience is a must.
    • Experience with teaching / set up of robots and Vision Hardware Set Up, Lighting Techniques, Camera Hardware Selection
    • Experience with the design, build, and start-up of manufacturing systems and experience with design, set up, and debugging of automation systems.
    • Ability to manage multiple complex projects and assignments with a high level of autonomy.
