    Position Overview:


    As the CFO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial landscape of JFS, ensuring the effective stewardship of resources for the diverse programs and services we offer.

    We are looking for an experienced financial leader with a strong background in nonprofit finance and a proven ability to develop and implement financial strategies that support and elevate multiple programs.

    The CFO will be a do-er, directly administering the day-to-day financial operations of the agency with limited staff support.

    While we have a small budget of approximately $4M, there is significant complexity to our structure, funding, and operations with multiple diverse programs supported by various sources of revenue.


    Salary:
    $78,000-97,500 annually

    Hours:
    hours/week dependent upon candidate capability and preference

    Key Responsibilities:
    Leverage your extensive experience in nonprofit financial management to guide JFS in achieving its mission and financial goals.
    Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of nonprofit accounting principles and compliance requirements.
    Thorough expertise in GAAP financial statement and not for profit accounting is required.

    Strategic Financial Leadership:
    Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the organization's mission and support the growth of multiple programs.
    Provide leadership in budget development, financial forecasting, and analysis to drive decision-making.
    Supervise the financial aspects of diverse programs, ensuring resource allocation efficiency and maximizing financial performance.
    Collaborate with program directors to synchronize financial strategies with programmatic objectives.
    Administer grants, contracts, and orchestrate the annual audit process.
    Possess expertise in provider insurance billing, collections, and accounting.
    Review agency liability insurance to ensure comprehensive coverage.
    Uphold the completeness and accuracy of agency transactions.

    Compliance and Risk Management:
    Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements for nonprofit organizations.
    Implement effective risk management strategies to safeguard the organization's financial integrity.
    Monitor and manage various contributed funds, including restricted, designated, and endowment funds.
    Provide insightful quarterly investment summaries.

    Financial Reporting and Transparency:
    Develop and present clear, insightful financial reports to the executive team and board, fostering transparency and informed decision-making.
    Communicate complex financial concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
    Prioritize routine and frequent communication with CEO and other leaders.

    Vendor Relationships and Technology Integration:
    Cultivate and maintain vendor relationships.
    Oversee automated financial systems to enhance efficiency.
    Supervision of related staff
    Contribute to effective recruitment, training, and performance management of financial staff of 1.
    Effectively supervise and delegate to financial staff of 1.

    Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.

    Proven experience in nonprofit financial leadership, with a track record of success in overseeing finances for organizations with multiple programs and funding sources.

    Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and compliance requirements.

    Skills and Abilities:
    Excellent strategic thinking and financial planning skills.
    Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
    Proficiency in financial analysis, forecasting, and budget management.
    Extensive experience in spreadsheet use and analysis.
    Ability to automate and improve fiscal-related processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
    Experience in cash flow monitoring and projections.
    Understanding of cost allocation methodologies involving multiple grant-funded programs.
