Job Description

Job Summary
The Direct Support Professional (DSP), like a Habilitation Specialist or Respite Worker, assists individuals following treatment plans within CLS's Community Habilitation program. Emphasizing independence and community integration, services are provided at the individual's home or in the community. You must adhere to the Direct Support Professional Code of Ethics, attend meetings and trainings, and offer feedback on progress. Being a proactive team member, you should suggest strategies to help individuals achieve personal goals.

Salary for this position ranges from $15.00 to $17.00 per hour for Community Habilitation, and $15.00 per hour for Respite.
Flexible Shift Information:
- Mornings, Afternoons, Evenings, Overnights
- Weekdays and/or Weekends
- Work 4 to 20+ hours weekly.

Responsibilities:

Ensure health, safety, and welfare of individuals
Respect individuals' and families' confidentiality
Promote independence within homes and community
Develop and maintain relationships for individuals
Protect emotional well-being and safety
Commit to person-centered supports
Work with others to promote self-directed lives
Follow treatment plans
Effective communication
Transport individuals as needed

Administrative & Company Policies:

Knowledge of fire evacuation procedures
Report concerns to supervisors promptly
Perform assigned duties

Physical Demands:

Ability to run when required
Safely lift individuals of varying weights and 20 lb items

Education/Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED
Experience with intellectual/developmental disabilities
Valid driver's license with good record
