· Strong organizational and communication skills (written and verbal).
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Exchange), SharePoint, Teams, Visio.
· Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended durations.
· Familiarity with IT equipment including servers, network switches, storage, and cabinets.
· Solid working knowledge of data center environments, network protocols, and disaster recovery.
Job Description:
General Services:
· Escort vendors and customers within secured spaces per security policies.
· Interface with requestors via various channels.
· Provide technical oversight during escorting activities.
· Communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
· Support leadership with incident communication and escalations.
Site Access:
· Review and approve data center access requests.
· Interface with supplementary service providers.
· Conduct vetting processes for visitors as per security policies.
Documentation and Reporting:
· Create and maintain site-specific documentation.
· Provide ad hoc reporting and support projects.
· Maintain daily turnover logs and track work in secured spaces.
Basic Data Center Planning:
· Assist in IT equipment installation and removal planning.
· Participate in data center space layout planning.
· Complete Hardware Planning Site Inspection forms as needed.
Cable troubleshooting and repair:
· Troubleshoot and repair system connections as needed.
· Test all types of cables – Copper, fiber (MM/SM), dark fiber, DWDM, MPO, etc.
· Replace cables in accordance with DXC 4Eyes processes.
· Check network connections.
· Trace cables.
· Clean and polish fiber ends.
Cable Installation and Planning:
· Physical installation and removal of patch cabling, and cabling components, and related material.
· Connect communication copper and fiber cables between installed IT equipment.
· Ensure that all links and communication cables have been tested, labeled, connected, and documented.
Service Management:
· Support Service Management processes and procedures.
· Ensure pre-validation and post-validation of planned change work.
· Perform Incident, Problem, and Change activities per ITIL standards.
Inventory Management Services:
· Perform physical inspection and inventory of IT equipment.
· Affix barcode and tags to devices.
· Enter and maintain equipment information in the database.
· Support SOXA and Asset Inventory audits.
Shipping/Receiving and Loading Dock:
· Manage shipping/receiving functions.
· Track and enter data related to shipments.
· Maintain organized storage spaces and execute returns.
Media Administration Services:
· Handle physical media activities including mounting, shipping, and tracking.
· Perform offsite vaulting preparation and activities.
· Enforce policies related to Media Management.
Hands & Eyes Services:
· Install and remove IT equipment.
· Perform basic device configuration and troubleshooting.
· Assist in disaster recovery activities.
Cabling Services:
· Install, remove, and troubleshoot patch cabling.
· Ensure all cable connections are tested and documented.
· Maintain accurate documentation of cabling.
