    Description

    JOB SUMMARY:
    This position is responsible for ensure the company Quality standards are maintained and documented during assigned shift. The incumbent provides leadership to the quality team and ensures team members are completing assigned tasks and necessary documentation.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Working in conjunction with the Quality Assurance Manager, supervises the quality assurance activities for the plant, to include, sanitation, WIP and finished product analysis, package integrity testing, HACCP/GMP and process control. Directly responsible for the quality assurance floor technicians.
    • Manage plant audits for GMP's, and other housekeeping programs and coordinate improvement activities with management
    • Overview/supervise the HACCP plans/records, review HACCP and Quality Control documentation to ensure CCP's and QCP's have been met.
    • Assist technicians in resolving Quality Assurance issues
    • Review daily in-process values for customer specification compliance
    • Provide a daily production Quality report to the management team.
    • Working in conjunction with the Quality Assurance Manager responsible for conducting and completing mock recall exercises
    • Immediately report all food safety and quality issues to Plant and QA management
    • Complete and provide updates on the hold log to upper management
    • Mange QC lab inventory
    • Should be on the floor 75% of the time
    • Manage sample submission to 3rd Party Laboratories
    • Investigate, report, and formulate corrective action plans on Plant and QA management
    • GMP, HACCP, Food Defense and Food Safety training for QC techs/contractors/temps
    • Overview/supervise records for all the pre-requisites program
    • Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of in-process materials, raw materials, environmental samples, finished goods, stability samples
    • Assists with audits as needed
    • Supervise Hold & Release program to assure all policies, procedures are followed
    • Responsible for COA database
    • Have a working knowledge of the QT9, Quality Management System
    • Responsible for being the backup SQF Practitioner in the absence of the Quality Assurance Manager.
    • All staff are responsible for Compliance with all GMP, Food Safety and Plant Safety rules while in the processing facility. Staff are encouraged to report Food Safety and Quality concerns immediately to their supervisors and Quality representatives on shift.
    • Other responsibilities as assigned by Management.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
    This position requires a High School Diploma and years of quality experience. This individual must be self-motivated, have strong leadership skills and work well in a team setting.

    Excellent oral and written communication skills are needed to document Quality programs and ensure team accomplishes tasks in a timely manner.

    Must have completed training in the SQF system.


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Ability to routinely lift and carry packaging weighing up to 20 lbs.
    • Be able to perform the above tasks in different working conditions, such as hot and cold environments
    • Medically fit to handle minor exposure to chemical cleaning solutions.
    • Must wear assigned PPE and follow sanitation procedures
    • At least 8 hours on feet standing or walking to work station

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:
    This position works in a manufacturing environment with variable temperature and loud noises from machinery and equipment alarms. The incumbent will be exposed to loud noises and alarms from equipment and machinery.
