- Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of children.
- Supervise and engage children during indoor and outdoor playtime, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Support daily routines, including mealtimes, nap times, and toileting, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, promoting open communication and collaboration.
- Observe children's behavior and development, documenting their progress and communicating any concerns to lead teachers or supervisors.
- Assist with the preparation of materials and resources for lessons and activities, ensuring they are age-appropriate and stimulating.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and stay updated on best practices in early childhood education.
- Adhere to daycare policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations, licensing standards, and confidentiality guidelines.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with young children in a daycare, preschool, or similar setting.
- Understanding of child development principles and age-appropriate teaching methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact warmly and effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and follow directions from lead teachers and supervisors.
- Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of the daycare and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Successful completion of background checks and clearances required by state regulations.
