    Description


    Small Office in Livonia looking for an experienced Staff Accountant with strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to join our accounting and finance team.

    The Accountant will be responsible for processing business transactions, financial statements, and budgets, handle accounts payable and receivable, receipts, and other financial matters.

    Proven accounting experience is required.

    The shift is full-time Monday Friday 8:00am - 5:00 pm


    Responsibilities:
    Process payroll
    Build and set annual budgets, monitor monthly adherence
    Prepare financial statements
    Post customer payments and deposits
    Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable
    Manage Medical/Dental/Vision policies, enroll new employees and manage annual open enrollment
    Annual Affordable Care Act Compliance
    Sales & Tax Use filings monthly
    Procedure and policy development-as needed
    Processing any employee changes (pay increase, demographics, resignations/terminations)
    Manage unemployment claims
    Credit Card payments and reconciliation on a monthly basis
    Year-end preparation and reporting-yearly with CPA
    Annual workers compensation audits


    Requirements:
    Able to analyze financial records and transfer information
    Data entry and word processing skills
    Self-motivated and self-directed
    Accurate and precise attention to detail
    Strong written and verbal communication skills
    Excellent time management skills; able to prioritize
    Assists team members when needed to accomplish team goals
    Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reports
    Able to handle high volumes of daily data/information
    Experience with Sage Intacct or similar accounting platform
    Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite
    Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
    Ability to multitask
    Bachelors degree, or similar-level experience, in Accounting, Finance, or Business with an emphasis in Accounting, or a related field preferred
    Two to three years of proven accounting/bookkeeping experience preferred
