    JOB SUMMARY:

    Assist the Resort Aviculturist in keeping and caring for exotic birds, tortoises and other animals owned by or under the care of the Resort. Display Resort animals outdoors on indoors. Present educational sessions about the birds to Resort guests.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Responsible for all aspects of animal care including, but not limited to, physical and emotional stability of birds and tortoises.
    • Maintains clean storage and display environments, identifying and eliminating hazards or harmful substances.
    • Feeds and waters all animals daily maintaining appropriate dietary needs.
    • Transports birds to and from display locations.
    • Rotates display locations.
    • Guest and member interaction with birds and tortoises.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum age requirement - 18+
    • Knowledge in the proper handling of birds and exotic animals.
    • Must be able to speak, read and write English.
    • Basic computer skills to include email and data entry.
    • Must demonstrate good oral communication skills, especially when relaying information to members and guests.

    ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must be able to interact with co-workers and have a sense of TEAM.
    • Must have neat and clean overall appearance.
