    POSITION TITLE: Elementary Principal

    FLSA: Exempt

    DEPARTMENT:

    WORK DAYS: 215 days / 11 month contract

    REPORT TO:Superintendent or Designee

    PRIMARY FUNCTION: Provide leadership and lead academic achievement

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Tier I Leadership certificate required
    • Tier II Leadership certificate preferred
    • Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience required
    • Prior successful leadership experience, preferred
    • Ability to work with leaders, faculty/staff, students, parents/ guardians, and the community
    • Extensive content and pedagogical knowledge in addition to strong communication skills
    • Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
    JOB GOAL: Provide leadership that ensures a safe, positive, and academically strong learning environment for students. Lead, support and supervise staff, manage school operations, build relationships with families and the community, as well as, set the vision and tone for a thriving learning academic environment.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Facilitate planning and implementing the adopted curriculum.
    • Evaluate the curriculum and its implementation and ensure all programs are implemented with fidelity.
    • Evaluate and interpret assessment results to make instructional decisions.
    • Participate in the MTSS process.
    • Implement with fidelity a faculty/staff performance evaluation program as required by the state and/or district.
    • Plan appropriate professional learning opportunities aligned to school goals or needs.
    • Protect and promote the effective use of instructional time.
    • Set and enforce high expectations for student and faculty/staff performance and behavior.
    • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
    • Communicate effectively with the community at large.
    • Establish an appropriate, clean, and safe physical environment.
    • Use resources to support system-wide and school goals.
    • Conduct a comprehensive needs assessment annually and use that data to develop a viable and actionable school improvement plan.
    • Perform all such duties as required by the Superintendent or designee.
    • Follow the Georgia Professional Standards for Educators
    • Demonstrate prompt and in person attendance
