    A week in the life of a Journeyman Marine Propulsion Engineer:

    Design, development, and evaluation and operation of marine vessels, ship machinery, and related equipment, such as power supply and propulsion systems.

    Review third party design modifications and improvements to mechanical systems
    Perform design reviews, evaluations constructability reviews, helping resolve technical uses and managing information generated through design and construction phase
    Support marine engineering analysis related to vessels
    Help team to create graphical representations of structures
    Inspect equipment or systems
    Research advanced engineering designs or applications
    Support in preparation of technical reports for internal use

    Job Requirements
    Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or High School diploma and 11+ years of relevant experience
    Ability to obtain a secret clearance

    At least 5+ years of experience:
    Progressively responsible experience in marine specific fields (i.e. propulsion systems, power-generation systems, fluids and hydraulics)
    Experience with Auto-CAD
    Familiarity with ABS, NVR, and commercial ship design rules and regulations.

    AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
