    OVERVIEW:

    A Paralegal II plays a vital role in collaborating with attorneys on the preparation, submission, and monitoring of various immigration and nationality law matters.

    Besides, a Paralegal II is expected to have an in-depth understanding of the immigration process, handle various case types proficiently, and engage more with company clients.


    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Under the guidance of a Senior Paralegal/Attorney, leads communication with clients via email/phone.
    • Provides assistance to assignees on internal systems and case progress.
    • Enhanced grasp of client communication protocols and standards.
    • Enters information on client services provided and forwards to Accounting for processing.
    • Proficient in all previously managed case types and continually seeks to enhance knowledge and skills; demonstrates increasing independence in case management.
    • Handles intricate and diverse corporate immigration cases.
    • Assesses cases, raises concerns, and promptly escalates to the relevant BAL team member(s).
    • Drafts forms, letters, and other documents for attorney review; adapts tools for cases diverging from templates; enhances understanding of BAL's best practices.
    • Tracks the status of all submitted applications and petitions and finalizes documents post attorney approval.
    • Utilizes document and data management systems for preparing, monitoring, and documenting all aspects of client casework as per BAL policies.
    • Generates internal case reports for management.
    • Familiarizes assignees with the process flow; Identifies challenging cases and collaborates with the Attorney on strategies and solutions.
    • Conducts research to gather data such as company or industry backgrounds, current salaries, processing procedures, standard processing times, etc.
    • Initiates communication with government agencies to acquire necessary information; notifies Senior Paralegal and/or attorney about potential process delays or issues.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Holds a Bachelor's Degree; possesses a minimum of 1 year of legal experience under a licensed attorney; or, a PL certificate from an ABA approved program.
    • Typically has over 2 years of corporate immigration experience within the U.S.
    • Comfortable and excels in a fast-paced environment.
    • Demonstrates strong decision-making skills.
    • Capable of working independently and efficiently.
    • Exceptional attention to detail, able to identify and rectify errors in work and others' work.
    • Outstanding client service aptitude.
    • Proficient in prioritizing cases, workload, and other assigned tasks (e.g., projects, administrative responsibilities, etc.).
    • Strong ability to meet deadlines and targets.
    • Skilled in MS Office, Scan/Copy machines; learns, implements, and navigates proprietary software on a daily basis.
    The salary range for this role in California is $76,100 - $80,800. This range is determined based on market analysis.

    If an offer is extended, various factors like education, licensure, certifications, experience, and skills will be considered in determining the final amount. Typically, individuals are not hired at the maximum of the salary range.
