    About the Position


    Boston Government Services (BGS) is currently looking for a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team working on the Second Target Station (STS) project at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). As a member of the STS project, you will be instrumental in the development of a cutting-edge Neutron Science Facility, contributing to innovative research in energy, healthcare, and environmental fields.

    Roles and Responsibilities


    • Contribute to the design and integration of Target Systems
    • Provide detailed drawings, specifications, and procurement support
    • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on research and prototyping
    • Produce engineering deliverables using CAD software and other tools

    Qualifications


    • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical systems design
    • Proficiency in 3-D CAD design and engineering principles
    • Strong communication skills for collaboration and problem-solving

    Work Arrangement


    • Onsite position

    Preferred Qualifications


    • Advanced degree in engineering
    • Experience with CAD design and analytical tools
    • Familiarity with systems for accelerator or nuclear environments
    • Proven ability in machine design and use of technical components
