    POSITIONSUMMARY:

    This is a ProgramManager position in the recently established Carl G. Grefenstette Center forEthics in Science, Technology, and Law at Duquesne University. This positionwill report to the Executive Director (ED). This is a full-time, hybridposition.


    The person in this position will manage the programs andevents for the center, including conferences, hackathons, student trips,lectures, campus discussions, competitions, and virtual workshops.

    The ProgramManager will work closely with the other team members to run all successfulprograms, advertise both online and in-person, help apply for and managegrants, and assist with other Center responsibilities as required.

    The ProgramManager will be also be the chief manager of various email and personnel listsand communication chains, and will be responsible for managing the online weband email presence of the Center.


    The Grefenstette Center relies upon teamwork,problem solving, and bringing to life a vision of the center that does notcurrently exist.

    This position requires someone who is willing to constructsomething new and work closely with the other team members to make this happen.

    This is a grant-funded, 2 yearposition with the possibility of renewal that is dependent upon the receptionof future grants.


    DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES:


    Provides day-to-day administrativeduties for the center, including working with our financial officer to ensuresuccessful coverage of all stipends, travel costs, and reimbursements.

    Organizes details of events such asconferences, hackathons, competitions, and lectures. This may include creationof graphics and advertising flyers.

    Manages all communications of thecenter, including email newsletters, website, advertising, and any socialmedia.

    Assists with writing of andmanagement of grants, especially editing, proofreading, and writing as needed.

    This is a hybrid position.

    Theprogram manager must work on campus approximately 2-3 days per week during theacademic year and be present for on campus and regional events as neededthroughout the year.

    Completes other duties as assigned.


    REQUIREMENTS:


    Minimum qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

    Must have general knowledge in administrativesupport applications,Microsoft Officeproducts, a keen eye for proofreading and spreadsheet organization.

    Must also be a ready and willing team playerwith a keen sense of identity and wanting to grow.


    Preferred qualifications:

    Experience managing events, craftingcommunication and advertising, helping to apply for grants, and runningday-to-day aspects of a university center.

    Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination ofexperience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilitiesrequired to perform the essential job functions.
