    We are seeking Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) for our 16-Bed Residential Clinic catering to youth and adolescents in Magna, Utah.

    We have openings for: Full-Time Morning Shift (7am-3pm); Swing Shift (3pm-11pm) & Graveyard (11pm-7am)



    We are also recruiting for PT/PRN staff!



    Compensation for Shift Differential for evening/overnight and weekend schedules. We offer a $2,000 Retention Bonus for weekend and graveyard shifts only. Starting pay for Pool Shifts is $19.00 per hour.



    The BHT plays a vital role in empowering and assisting individuals with mental health conditions to lead a normal life. Services are rendered in a communal residential setting. As a BHT, you will foster active treatment and a positive atmosphere for individuals based on their personalized treatment plan / behavior plan.



    JOB OVERVIEW (Including various responsibilities)

    • Consistently monitor the well-being of the individuals served to maintain a positive, supportive, and structured environment
    • Assist, educate, mentor, and coach individuals in daily living skills such as housekeeping, personal hygiene, budgeting, shopping, community activities, and utilizing community resources to achieve treatment goals outlined in the individual's treatment plan
    • Continuously monitor members' activities & behaviors during shifts to ensure safety and well-being of all individuals
    • Aid members in self-administering medication and maintaining corresponding records
    • Safely transport members to and from their residence and any scheduled appointments
    • Demonstrate proficiency in planning, executing, and coordinating health promotion strategies including health and wellness activities
    • Participate in meal planning, ensuring well-balanced menus meeting specific dietary requirements as necessary
    • Timely and accurate documentation of clinical information in members' records and submission of appropriate billing according to program and BHT services guidelines
    • Adhere to agency policies and licensing requirements
    • Ensure positive member outcomes by offering exceptional care and completing documentation in a timely manner in alignment with Copa's policies and procedures
    • Report incidents, accidents, infections, and infestations, completing required paperwork and following appropriate reporting protocols
    • Act as a client/member advocate during clinical treatment planning meetings in collaboration with the Program Coordinator
    • Contribute to treatment planning, education, and discharge planning
    • Facilitate a therapeutic environment for members encouraging participation in recreational activities and group therapies
    • Offer supportive therapy for select members through leading group activities and contributing to the development of group curriculum for psychosocial and skills groups
    • Participate in or assist with new member admissions, gathering necessary information for assessments and documenting belongings and relevant details
    • May assist with kitchen management tasks
    • Act as a mentor to new BHTs and BHPPs
    • Comply with all agency policies, licensing requirements, and training obligations
    • Additional job duties may be required to ensure compliance and satisfactory service delivery based on program or departmental needs

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • High School diploma/GED and 2-3 years of relevant experience in a behavioral health setting; OR
    • An associate degree and 1-2 years of relevant experience in a behavioral health setting; OR
    • Minimum 6 months experience as a BHPP at Copa Health with demonstrated competency as per program/supervisor guidelines
    • Experience working with diverse and low-income communities
    • Must possess a valid state fingerprint clearance or be eligible to obtain one within 8 weeks of hire
    • Must have reliable transportation, a valid Utah Driver's License with adequate insurance coverage, and meet Copa Health's driving requirements
    • Must provide TB clearance before the start date

    A Retention Bonus of $1,000 - $2,000 is awarded after completing one year of full-time employment. The first payment is made after 6 months of employment, with the remaining balance given after a year of employment. The employee must maintain good standing and not be under any corrective action during this period to receive the full retention bonus.
