What you'll be doing...This opportunity is for Military personnel who are current participants of the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program or are participants of the Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program Cohort You will be supporting all aspects of building and data center facility infrastructure for one of Verizon's critical enterprise data centers.

These responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Mechanical and electrical system Operations, maintenance and repairsOperating Facility emergency power generation plantOperate and maintain Building automation systems (BAS) and Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) operations and CMMSUnderstand how to use Power Monitoring and analyzing tools to troubleshoot failuresParticipate and lead in compliance activities related to data center operations, physical security, and insurance.

Perform energy audits and best practice initiativesUnderstand and react to physical security issuesVendor management and escortingPerform general building maintenanceTroubleshoot alarms and failures with mechanical and electrical infrastructureCover any shift and provide on call coverage as necessaryWhat we're looking for...You have knowledge about Critical Facilities Management.

You enjoy analyzing problems and having the autonomy to select and implement the right solutions.

While you work well independently, you are also a great team player and enjoy working with colleagues and coordinating efforts to ensure completion.

No stranger to a fast-paced environment, you manage multiple assignments and competing priorities while staying focused on maintaining availability and uptime.

As a contributor, you can quickly build relationships with a diverse range of people and explain complex technical issues in a way that everyone can understand.

This opportunity is for Military personnel who are current participants of the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program or are participants of the Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program Cohort 2-2024Associates degree or technical school certificate in mechanical or electrical fieldFive or more years of relevant work experienceNJ low Pressure boiler black seal license or within 180 days of hire dateFederal CFC certification or within 180 days of hire dateAbility to write and modify MOPs and SOPsKnowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing systemsKnowledge of fire safety systemsEven better if you have:A Bachelor degree in mechanical or electrical fieldExperience working with critical facilities principles and proceduresFive or more years of Electrical and Mechanical large facility infrastructure management (UPS, Generator, PDU, Chillers, etc.)Experience with Change Management, process documentation and vendor managementKnowledge of data center construction principlesMore than 5 years of practical work experience within an enterprise data centerUnderstanding of water treatment systemsProject management skillsExperience with automated Building Management SystemsIf Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every 'even better' qualification listed above.
