Job DescriptionJob Summary:
Kirwan Surgical Products LLC specializes in the development of superior products for microsurgical specialties. We are in search of a Senior Buyer with direct industry experience to be responsible for purchasing goods and raw materials, both domestically and internationally, as well as managing supplier relationships.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• None
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Develops and maintains relationships with suppliers.
• Negotiates contracts and costs with suppliers.
• Work with Engineering and other departments as needed to select new suppliers.
• Oversees and maintains supplier monitoring/grading.
• Obtain samples as requested by department heads or other authorized personnel and maintain corresponding records of such samples.
• Maintain relationship with customs broker.
• Manage and maintain all related data and documentation related to purchase orders, invoices, customs forms, samples and required correspondence.
• Review customs documents for proper reporting of Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification and shipment values. Monitor and maintain HTS classifications for company products and update company database as needed.
• Process purchasing documents, approve supplier invoices, review, and process non-conformity reports, and monitor Kirwan Surgical suppliers within ISO standards.
• Acts as lead in absence of Supervisor or Manager
• Monitor inventory levels and order packaging supplies.
• Processes appropriate documentation for supplies traveling overseas.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Experience purchasing in regulated environments.
• Strong experience with supplier management
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Production/Operations, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years Purchasing and/or Supply Chain experience in an FDA regulated industry.
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
