    Job Description

    We are seeking an Environmental Analyst who will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our environmental analysis processes.

    The ideal candidate will be adept at preparing and analyzing environmental samples while adhering to stringent quality assurance protocols and standard operating procedures.

    They will possess a comprehensive understanding of both routine and complex analyses, exercising sound judgment in operating laboratory equipment and validating data.


    Responsibilities:
    Prepare and analyze environmental samples with precision and adherence to scientific methodology.

    Enter and report analytical data accurately using our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

    Conduct independent data reviews to ensure the accuracy of analytical results generated by peers.

    Perform analysis of reference materials, proficiency samples, and other quality control samples as necessary to maintain standards.

    Maintain exemplary client service standards and provide technical support when required.

    Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Manager to develop, implement, and collect data for QA processes across various analytical tests.


    Confirm lab results as needed by client services personnel, ensuring accuracy and reliability.

    Execute all analytical testing QA-related tasks diligently and comprehensively.

    Assist in acquiring and maintaining necessary laboratory accreditations to uphold quality standards.

    Update and maintain all essential training and QA documents onsite as required.

    Manage project coordination according to urgency and deadlines to ensure timely delivery.

    Provide assistance to colleagues on analytical inquiries and participate in Lean initiatives and projects as assigned.

    Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.

    Manage inventory of re-sale supply items and laboratory consumables, initiating re-orders as necessary.

    Dispose of analyzed samples in accordance with established protocols.

    Train new analysts in various analytical testing methodologies as needed.

    Recommend and coordinate sample transfer procedures as required.

    Establish and maintain laboratory stock cultures and reference samples for ongoing analysis.

    Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for errors and issues as necessary.

    Ensure proper maintenance of all laboratory equipment and coordinate servicing when needed.

    Regularly communicate available capacity to senior management to optimize resource allocation.

    Provide support to other departments within the lab (e.g., mycology, asbestos, bacteriology) as appropriate and when needed.

    Fulfill any other responsibilities deemed necessary by the Supervisor/Manager.

    Position Specific

    Responsibilities:
    Prepare media for daily use.

    Perform water filtration procedures.

    Plate samples on specified agar for bacterial/fungal analysis.

    Incubate samples and prioritize daily sample loads accordingly.

    Perform required analyses within hold time requirements.

    Maintain QA documentation to uphold standards.

    Manage and maintain stock cultures for controls.

    Prepare monthly unknowns for internal company proficiency testing.

    Communicate with other departments for assistance as needed.

    Maintain open communication with management and project management.

    Conduct HPC and TC/EC analyses.

    Perform equipment maintenance tasks such as pipette calibration and autoclave maintenance.

    Collaborate with team members to efficiently complete daily workload.
