    Position Overview

    As the Director of Market Planning, you will lead the charge for Dutch Bros Coffee's marketplace analysis fueling our future growth plans. This person will dive deep into data that helps predict patterns uncovering future growth opportunities to help us strategically locate our shops for maximum impact.

    The Director of Market Planning will collaborate and communicate with key stakeholders, including the President of Operations, Senior Vice President of Development, and Vice President of Strategy, and will be responsible for identifying key areas for growth collaborating on sales forecast, market investment, and return strategies.

    Additionally, this person will advise on the direction and overall roadmap of new shop development, while overseeing the development, implementation, and execution of modern tools used in analysis and projects.

    Key Result Areas (KRAs)

    Strategic Marketplace Analysis and Planning:
    • Lead strategic market analysis and planning initiatives by overseeing in-depth market research, competitor analysis, and consumer behavior studies to identify emerging market trends and opportunities
    • Identify market gaps and opportunities for growth expansion
    • Develop strategies to increase market share and improve brand positioning
    • Prepare detailed reports to communicate and present market analysis findings to key stakeholders
    Growth Opportunity Identification and Strategic Development:
    • Prepare and recommend strategies for shop placements that would provide maximum impact
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to align shop placements with overall business goals and market trends
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and implement comprehensive market plans that align with business objectives and drive sustainable growth
    • Develop and execute strategic initiatives for shop placement and new shop development to advise on overall roadmap, market positioning, and growth strategies to ensure successful market entry and expansion
    • Monitor competitors' concept placement strategies and consumer feedback and adjust tactics and strategies accordingly
    Analytics Data Utilization and Development:
    • Utilize analytical data to track performance and measure the success of marketing initiatives
    • Identify key areas for growth and investment based on data insights by conducting thorough market assessments, opportunity evaluations, and risk analysis to prioritize strategic initiatives and resource allocation
    • Oversee the development and implementation of new tools for market analysis and project management
    • Continually enhance analytical tools and methodologies for market analysis, forecasting, and decision-making processes
    • Other duties as assigned
    Job Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Geography/GIS, Computer Science, or comparable experience, required
    • 6+ additional years of experience in real estate geography/GIS environment developing analytical solutions using advanced spatial statistical methods, application development and deployment, data visualization, and spatial modeling and/or mapping
    • Significant experience with GIS/location analytic abilities and Microsoft Excel, with additional experience with the following platforms: ESRI, Alteryx, Tableau, Smartsheet
    • Proven track record in strategic market analysis, growth strategy and development, and cross-functional collaboration
    • Travel required up to 20% of the time and requires driving when necessary
    Location Requirement:

    This position is required to be in Phoenix, Arizona, and requires four days in office a week.
