    Administrator, IT Applications
    To install, implement, administer, and support IT software applications that support Austin Community College (ACC) administrative systems.
    Installs, implements, administers, supports, and maintains third party collegewide applications; Google apps for education.
    Monitors designated applications and takes corrective action to prevent or minimize system down time.
    Creates user documentation and may train personnel on new applications software.
    Assists with developing policies, procedures, programs, scripts, or webpages as required.
    Provides upper level support to users having difficulties with applications.
    Collaborates on special projects; may track and allocate software licenses.

    Supports and serves as a technical expert for ACC's in-house developed applications in all stages of development, testing, and production.

    regularly attends technical training in order to maintain technical expertise.

    Use of industry established best-practices and standards to ensure efficient configuration, implementation and administration of third party local and/or SaaS college wide applications as required.

    Knowledge of capacity planning, proactive monitoring and provisioning to minimize downtime.
    Information Technology practices, standards, and protocol.
    Knowledge of major administrative or educational software applications, such as finance, human resources, or student systems.
    Understanding of project management and ITIL methodologies.
    shell scripts, Perl, Ruby, Python, PHP).
    VMware, VDI, Virtual Box, Docker).
    Experience with automation software (e.g., Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP, VLANS.

    Understanding of Relational Database Theory; Knowledge and experience with administering Service Desk solutions, Digital Desk, MDM solutions, DLP solutions, Google Apps for Education, ID Card solutions, Print services solutions, a variety of third party applications, SQL and/or AIX application administration.

    Maintaining an established work schedule and providing on-call assistance including some nights and weekends.
    Troubleshooting techniques used to resolve application-related problems.
    Ensuring availability, dependability, and reliability of assigned applications.
    Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials.
    Ability to understand, comply with and operate within IT governance policies and procedures.
    Use a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software.
    Use query and control languages, administer applications, and provide technical support to end users.

    Required Work Experience
    ~ Two years related work experience.

    Preferred Work Experience
    Two or more years of related work experience.
    Administration and tuning of application stacks (e.g.,Tomcat, JBoss, Apache, Ruby, NGINX).
    Solid Cloud experience, preferably in G-suite, VCenter, WYSE Management Suite, AWS, Workspace 1, JAMF, ProDoc, Box.
    VMware, VDI, Virtual Box, Docker).
    Experience with automation software (e.g., shell scripts, Perl, Ruby, Python, PHP).
    Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP, VLANS.

    Bachelor's degree.

    Bachelor's degree with a technology focus.

    Depending on area of assignment, experience with web application development may be required.

    Understanding of Relational Database Theory; Knowledge and experience with administering CollegeNET Resource 25 scheduling and software application, Remedy, Google Apps for Education, ID Works, a variety of third party applications, SQL and/or AIX application administration.

    Salesforce Certification
    Work is performed in a standard office or similar environment.
