    The Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology, Inc. (CCAT) is a non-stock, tax-exempt 501(c)3 corporation incorporated in May 2004. CCAT is an applied technology demonstration and training center that validates, demonstrates, and assists with the adoption of leading-edge technologies into global industrial companies and the advanced manufacturing supply chain while providing vital workforce training and upskilling necessary for companies to fully utilize the technology advancement. CCAT partners with State and Federal governmental funding agencies such as the DOD, DOE, NASA, SBA and USDOC on technology development and training utilizing government programs and commercial contracts to address military and civilian industrial manufacturing needs, promote clean-tech planning and policy initiatives and enhance workforce skills for technology competitiveness.

    In this role, you'll be at the forefront of revolutionizing talent development, training, and technology adoption within small and medium-sized manufacturing companies and OEMs. You'll leverage your expertise in consultative sales to uncover client needs and tailor compelling solutions that drive growth and success. From managing existing relationships to forging new partnerships, you'll play a pivotal role in expanding CCAT's reach and impact.     Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

    • Develop a strategic sales plan and individual account tactics to effectively penetrate and identify business needs with ultimate decision-makers.
    • Exceed business development needs by creating and communicating the value of services with prospective customers.
    • Present to small and large audiences either in-person, via conference call, and/or in web-enabled environments using PowerPoint and other technologies.
    • Identify customer needs and position training and technology program solutions that add value to the customer and set CCAT services above the competition.
    • Maintain a positive reputation and credibility during and after the initial outreach and business development process.
    • Follow-up with customers and colleagues on activities that drive program participation levels for the organization.
    • Use customer relationship management (CRM) systems effectively to drive business leads and provide customer relations and support.
    • Familiarize, understand, and communicate effectively details related to the technical aspects of training, talent development, and technology programs to customers.
    • Setup information sessions and tours for customers to learn more about programmatic offerings.
    • Manage, grow, and invest in healthy relationships with all manufacturers and manufacturing trade organizations in the northeast U.S. region.
    • Manage training program participant pipeline by conducting outreach, enrolling participants, and tracking sales.
    Required Experience and Skills:

    Experience:
    • A bachelor's degree in business, education, marketing, engineering, technology, or a related field.
    • A minimum of 6+ years of business development or customer service experience working with manufacturers or private businesses
    • A proven track record of engaging businesses and customers, creating and executing sales or customer service plans
    • Strong knowledge of the manufacturing industry and their operational best practices
    Desired Experience:
    • 10+ years of business development experience supporting education or training programs and institutions.
    • Graduate degree in business, management, education, manufacturing, or technical field.
    • Have and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers and their personnel in Connecticut and the northeast region.
    Physical Demands & Work Environment: The role involves occasional movement within the office, computer operation, and frequent communication. The position may require visits to manufacturing businesses and adherence to safety protocols in lab and external facilities.

    Travel: 20-30% travel for state and regional travel but may require more in the first year to develop new relationships.
