    The Gunston School, an independent, nonsectarian, college preparatory day school located in Centreville, MD seeks a full time Performing Arts Department Music Teacher for fall of 2024.     The Performing Arts Department Music Teacher works closely with the Department Chair to ensure the alignment of program goals with the school mission and play an integral role in curriculum development and student performance programming.

    Our vision is to cultivate and grow a contemporary music program that incorporates an array of opportunities that support student engagement and participation in the Performing Arts. Applicants with a background in electronic music, music technology, electric guitar and bass guitar, drum set and music industry are encouraged to apply. Semester courses to be taught include Contemporary Ensemble, Piano Lab, Guitar Lab, Intro to Music Theory, and Intro to Music Industry. All Gunston faculty serve as advisors, and are involved with the school's extracurricular and Bay Studies program.

    Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor's degree in music/performing arts (or a related field) and have strong interpersonal and communication skills along with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and families.
