*Job Title: LPN**Location: Rochester, NY 14621**Duration of contract: 13 weeks (with possible extension)

*Shift: M-F 7:30a-5:30p; 40hrs/week

*Job Description:

• Ambulatory experience in rooming.
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible, Strong Communication Skills, Adaptable and willing to work with others, immunizations, EKGs.
• Minimum 1-2 years' experience.
• Any surgery experience would be great as well as some wound experience would be helpful but not necessary.
• Experience in an Ambulatory setting is preferred.
• Provides safe and effective nursing care, including the delegation of selected activities to unlicensed assistive personnel within their scope of practice.
• Under the direction of the RN, and participates in the development, implementation, evaluation, and modification of plans for nursing care for the patient and their family.
• Accessing central lines for medication administration or blood draws.
• Serves as the second team member in a two-person independent double check or skin assessment.
• Performs and documents physical assessments in the EHR.
• Delivers patient and family education including education specific to the discharge process.
• Inserts indwelling urinary catheters and nasogastric tubes with specific training and competency.
• Collects lab specimens, performs bladder scans, and manages wound dressings including wound vacs.
• Participates in unit/hospital projects, which seek to improve patient care.
• Provide patient/family teaching as appropriate.
• Coordinates activities of multiple disciplines to meet the plan of care.
• Documents plan findings and evaluation according to policy.
• Assures the safety of the patient population served by demonstrating age-appropriate skills in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care. Assumes responsibility for attendance according to policy.
