- Performing total body MRI scanning per established protocols and procedures. Consulting with Radiologists for any clinical deviations concerning patient care/scan protocol needs.
- Ensuring patients are properly screened for all MRI procedures by completing the MRI Patient Screening Record.
- Maintaining environmental safety within the MRI scan room by keeping all ferrous materials away from the magnetic field as per established guidelines.
- Obtaining all necessary signatures or direct physician authorizations on the informed consent documents for all examinations utilizing the administration of contrast media.
- Coordinating transportation of the patient from the nursing floors to the department and ensures the availability of applicable support personnel (nursing, respiratory, anesthesiology, and physician) in order to expedite the procedure.
- Remaining abreast of new procedures, equipment, and methods along with participation in their evaluation and application.
- Communicating with the public, medical staff, and interdepartmental personnel regarding customer needs.
- Maintaining extremely confidential and accurate records manually and electronically to ensure appropriate patient data is available.
- Assisting in all sections within Imaging Services and aiding other personnel in monitoring and ensuring patient charts/records are complete and accurate.
