    What the job involves


    The Senior Accountant is a critical part of our fast-growing accounting team and plays a crucial role in supporting the daily accounting operations and objectives.

    Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will play a critical role in the full cycle closing process, including preparing and posting journal entries, completing account reconciliations, and performing analyses to ensure accuracy in our GL.

    You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and help remediate accounting issues. You will also support annual audits, internal reporting, and other compliance measures.

    Responsibilities


    Engage in full cycle general ledger financial close process and related activities to ensure completeness and accuracy in accordance with US GAAP (including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and flux and trend analyses).

    Areas of accounting focus include, but are not limited to, general ledger, payroll, costs of goods sold, inventory, and accounts receivable.

    Prepare schedules, supporting documents, and variance analysis for management.
    Proactively identify issues, drive continuous improvement, optimize, and automate processes/systems.
    Participate in departmental projects and initiatives, working cross-functionally as needed.
    Participate in and contribute to the financial audit process including preparation of various audit requests and responding to inquiries.
    Ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables.
    Assist in general accounting matters and ad hoc projects or requests.

    Work closely with the Accounting Manager to help draft and propose accounting policies and procedures to help scale the department and company.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in accounting or related degree and 3+ years of relevant experience (CPA a plus)
    Big 4 experience is a plus
    Solid understanding of US GAAP.
    Work in a fast-paced environment, balancing monthly responsibilities and multiple projects.
    Exceptional written and oral communication skills, able to work cross-functionally and drive accounting led projects.

    Demonstrated successful track record in the hands-on work of accounting, including month-end closings, audits, schedule preparation, account reconciliations and variance analysis.

    Desire to continuously learn and pick up new areas, the role will have exposure to all areas of accounting so understanding of accounting is key for success.

    NetSuite experience preferred but not required.
    Excellent Excel skills (maintaining complex spreadsheets and employing complex formulas).
