Job DescriptionJob Purpose: Assemble, install, maintain and repair marine hydraulic cranes.
Essential Functions
• Perform assembly, installation and testing of hydraulic cranes.
• Assemble and test hydraulic components.
• Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
• Keep crane systems operating by performing inspections, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventative maintenance and repairing equipment as required.
• Operate forklift, hand truck, man lift and other production equipment.
• Service or repair mechanical equipment as required.
• Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports and inspection checklist.
• Ensure safety and compliance with OSHA and ANSI standards.
• Ensure compliance with Techcrane Quality Management System.
• Maintain clean and organized shop.
• Control non-conforming products.
• Confer with Assembly Shop Foreman, Production Manager and/or Engineering regarding problems with operation or maintenance of equipment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• May perform service calls as needed.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1-3 years of mechanical experience required.
• 1-3 yrs exp. with hydraulic hose fabrication and installation. System Pressure competence is required.
• 1-3 Years of tool maintenance/repair. Tool Use Competency is required.
• Crane Rigger License Mandatory (50 Hours of Experience Minimum)
• Competency and Operation of forklift and other production equipment.
• Crane operator license preferred.
• Must own a complete mechanics tool set as prescribed.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must have reliable transportation for service calls as needed.
• Must pass a standard physical examination as required.
Physical and Mental Demands
• Regularly required to walk, stand, kneel, bend, squat, stretch, twist or reach with body, arms and/or legs.
• Use hands to handle or operate tools and equipment; grasp, manipulate or assemble objects.
• Keep hand and arm steady while moving arm or while holding arm and hand in one position.
• Able to see at close range.
• Ability to visualize.
• Must be able to talk and hear.
• Must be able to climb and balance; work at heights.
• Regularly lift/carry 50 pounds or more.
• Operate crane, forklift and other equipment.
Work Environment
• Will spend majority of time in assembly shop; will spend some time in warehouse.
• Noise level will range from moderate to very loud.
• May involve hazardous materials, fumes, moving parts/equipment, electrical shock risk, extreme heat (welding) and extreme cold (liquid nitrogen).
• Severe hot weather is likely; severe cold weather is possible.
