- Collaborating with the technical project manager to define project objectives, scope, and technical requirements for particle accelerator, high-energy physics, nuclear physics, and radiochemistry projects.
- Assisting in the development of project plans, including task assignments, resource allocation, and timelines.
- Providing technical input and engineering expertise during project design, development, and implementation phases.
- Conducting feasibility studies, performing technical calculations and analyses, and making recommendations to support decision-making processes.
- Participating in design reviews and technical meetings to ensure compliance with project requirements and technical specifications.
- Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution, addressing technical issues and resolving conflicts as they arise.
- Monitoring project progress, tracking deliverables, and providing regular updates to the technical project manager and other key stakeholders.
- Assisting in risk assessment and management activities, identifying technical challenges and proposing mitigation strategies.
- Supporting the development and implementation of quality control procedures and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
- Participating in the testing, commissioning, and acceptance phases of projects, verifying that technical requirements are met.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot technical issues, providing technical guidance and proposing solutions.
- Documenting project activities, maintaining accurate records, and preparing technical reports and presentations as required.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in project engineering, preferably in highly technical projects related to particle accelerators, high-energy physics, nuclear physics, or radiochemistry.
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of particle accelerators, high-energy physics, nuclear physics, and radiochemistry principles and technologies.
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools relevant to the field, such as CAD software, simulation tools, or data analysis software.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and address technical challenges.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, enabling collaboration with technical experts, project teams, and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to project requirements.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and processes, supporting the successful execution of projects.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Must be comfortable working in a facility that produces radiation.
- Work to be conducted in both an office environment and the production facility.
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
