    Description


    The Northeast Indiana Special Education Cooperative (NEISEC) is the best and largest Special Education Cooperative in the state of Indiana.

    We serve approximately 4,400 students in thirteen school districts in Noble, Steuben, DeKalb, and LaGrange counties in Northeast Indiana.

    We are looking for a dynamic, well qualified education professional to serve as our Special Education Director for Steuben County, which includes six Elementary Schools, three Middle Schools and three High Schools.

    There are four County Directors, which along with the Executive Director, comprise the Leadership Team of the Co-op.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provide direct supervision of all assigned special education programs and teachers in cooperation with building administrators and NEISEC Executive Director.
    • Perform regularly scheduled teacher observations in accordance to Indiana state law and perform end of year evaluations to include any necessary
    performance improvement plans.

    • Provide leadership for all staff development activities for county staff, including recommendations and approval.
    • Assist the Executive Director in ensuring compliance of all Co-op staff within Steuben county, utilizing state of Indiana indicators.
    • Design and monitor the implementation of research- based curriculum in coordination with the Executive Director, other County Directors and the
    Programming Committee.

    • Assist the Executive Director in policy development and implementation upon approval by the Superintendent Council.
    • Provide technical assistance and serve as a liaison to individual school districts in regard to Article VII.
    • Assist the Executive Director in developing and updating plans for appropriate staffing based on current and projected enrollment and maintaining proper class
    sizes.

    • Serve as special education administrator in complaints and hearings when assigned by the Executive Director.
    • Assist in the preparation of responses to hearing orders, complaint issues and corrective action plans for audits.
    • Attend and represent the Co-op at approved professional conferences and trainings, providing all pertinent information to the Leadership Team.
