Description:
The job position available is for a Psychiatrist at the North Battlefield VA Outpatient Clinic (NBVAOPC), which is set to open in November of 2024. This role falls under the Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences Service Line at the Hampton Veterans Affairs Medical Center. As a Psychiatrist, your main task will involve performing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations on Veterans dealing with various mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and substance abuse, among others. A patient-centered team approach is crucial in this role.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent in medicine or osteopathic medicine from an approved institution
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a US State or Territory
- Residency training completion in an accredited core specialty program leading to board certification eligibility
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
Preferred Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of Psychiatry experience is preferred
Duties:
- Provide a range of psycho-diagnostic services and therapeutic interventions
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations for a diverse patient population
- Offer therapeutic interventions in various clinical settings
- Participate in team meetings, treatment planning, and quality assurance initiatives
Work Schedule:
Full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM, with on-call duties as needed.
