Description

The primary responsibility of this position is to manage, and provide leadership to the Community Development Department in Planning, Economic Development, Redevelopment and Building Inspections.

The position will also assist the City Manager in overseeing recreational programming, public arts and community events.

Serves as the principal staff advisor to the Planning Commission, and (depending on qualifications) either acts as the Executive Director to the Economic Development Authority and Housing and Redevelopment Authority or assists the City Manager in doing so.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Community and/or Economic Development, Urban Studies, Public or Business Administration or other closely-related fields.

At least four years of progressive management experience in the public sector, especially Community and/or Economic Development Department or similar authority, or similar experience consulting in non-profit or private sectors.
