    The Critical Care Physician Assistant is responsible for assisting in the care and management of patients in collaboration with and under the supervision of the attending physician.

    As with any other health care professional, the Critical Care Physician Assistant is charged with being a patient advocate.

    Works in conjunction with critical care physicians and staff to care for medical, surgical and critical care patients as requested.

    Participates in performance improvement activities, meetings, educational projects, and research projects.
    Participates in and maintains critical data base information as directed.
    Participates in the research, development, implementation, and tracking of clinical management guidelines.
    Participates in education of patients, families, staff, and residents.
    Actively develops care plans and discharge dispositions in conjunction with the case management team.

    Attends appropriate continuing medical education so as to maintain Pennsylvania Licensure and be in compliance with the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation Standards for Trauma Center Accreditation.

    Complies with Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation Standards.
    Responsible for submitting a monthly report to the critical care Physician Assistant manager.
    Demonstrates ability to develop effective working relationships within the hospital and St. Luke's University Health Network.
    Medical Physician Assistant, or Osteopathic Physician Assistant with current license to practice in the state of Pennsylvania
